“The results for my daughter were immediately obvious. She was prepared, confident and eager for job interviews and received an excellent job offer. She was told her knowledge, energy and ability to present herself as qualified for the job were the reasons she was selected. These are the areas Melinda prepared her to address in each interview. As a parent I endorse the process Melinda uses to help people hone in on their strengths. Her insight into persuasive communications is incredibly helpful to anyone wanting to get results and distinguish themselves in the highly competitive job market.”

What has the University Career Center done to help prepare your kid? It takes more than a college degree to stand out in today’s competitive pool of job applicants and many smart kids are not getting the jobs they want. Melinda knows what employers are looking for. She was once in charge of hiring for a major ad agency and has consulted with Fortune 500 companies. Now, she has developed the inPSYCHS program that teaches the new graduate how to research and prepare before the first interview, how to make a strong first impression, and the steps to take after the interview to close the deal:
Here are just a few of the services covered in the program:
- How to write a resume that will telegraph strengths
- How to prepare (and be prepared) for the interviews
- How to have a presence and be more confident during the interview(s)
- Understand how the employer judges applicants
- What to do after the interview – how to handle the phone calls, emails
and letters
There are three program levels available:
Platinum - Private consulting with graduate on communications approaches and specifics on resumes, letters, etc., one-on-one coaching on how to research companies and gain advantages in your interview from insights, phone consulting before and after interviews to help you win a job offer.
Gold - Weekend class 5 – 15 students per class, when offered; phone consultation after class as needed to help you with specific job opportunities.
Silver - Weekend class program only which includes two half days, when offered, in class practice interviews, training on how to write resumes, letters, coaching on presentation skills, etc.
"Acing a job interview means more than having the right answers.
Unfortunately, I didn't know that at first, and had no luck getting
beyond any first interviews. Working with Melinda, I chiseled away at
my resume and writing samples until they not only grabbed attention,
but actually got the recruiter excited about meeting with me. Good way
to start!
I still had to convince the head of the company to hire me.
Melinda prepped me to identify potential questions and how best to deliver answers.
Armed with that knowledge, I went into the interview with the single most
important goal in mind: to be remembered. Of course I got the job."
